01
On your device
Downloaded records, settings and favourites are stored locally. With your permission, location and heading support map position, distance and bearing. A recent position and timestamp are cached on your device to restore the map. The app reads this cache for up to 24 hours; it is not automatically erased at that point. Database and notification payloads do not upload your location, favourites or notes.
02
Optional iCloud sync & backups
If enabled, your saved sites, coordinates, notes, tags, ordering and sync information are stored in your private iCloud storage. Turning sync off stops syncing but does not delete the cloud copy. Deletions sync when the service is available. Backup files are saved to the location or service you choose and must be managed separately.
03
Database downloads
Our download service processes network information, including your IP address, to complete requests. No account is required. Service providers may retain request records for security and operation. Downloads do not send your favourites or purchase history.
04
Optional notifications
When enabled, the notification service stores an installation identifier, push token, language, app and database versions, compatibility information and delivery records. These persistent records support update notifications. Turning notifications off requests deletion of the active subscription; the app retries when online. Invalid tokens are removed after delivery responses. Subscriptions inactive for more than 180 days are removed when the dispatcher runs. Uninstalling does not guarantee immediate removal. Infrastructure logs and backups may have separate retention periods.
05
Apple services & shared content
Maps, place search and Look Around send the information needed for your request to Apple, such as a search query and map region. Apple also provides iCloud and processes purchases. Opening source links, sharing a site or exporting a backup sends the selected content to the destination you choose, under its own terms and privacy policy.
06
Optional purchases
Apple handles payment; North Towers does not receive payment-card details. The app verifies purchases on your device to show the Supporter badge and restore the initial purchase. It does not upload receipts or purchase history to us. Repeat contributions are consumable purchases and cannot be restored.
07
TestFlight beta testing
When you use the TestFlight beta, Apple provides developers with testing information such as sessions, crashes and feedback you submit. Email invitations may also identify the tester; a public invitation does not share your name or email unless you provide it. Apple’s TestFlight privacy terms apply.
08
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. Feedback drafted by the app includes the app version and system information. Correspondence is handled through our email provider and used to respond and troubleshoot. You can request deletion by email. GitHub issues are public; use email for private support.
09
This website
This website has no advertising or analytics scripts and uses self-hosted fonts. The motion preference is saved in your browser. Interactive demonstrations run locally and do not request your location or change app settings. External TestFlight, email and GitHub links open services with their own privacy practices. When served online, the hosting service processes the network information required to deliver pages and may keep operational logs.

Your choices
Location, notifications and iCloud sync are optional and can be changed in app or system settings. You can delete favourites and remove local data by uninstalling. Uninstalling does not remove separate backups or an iCloud copy. For privacy questions or help with stored information, email contact@northtowers.ca.
